Joliet Admirals Play a Double Header Against Bloomington Bobcats

In the first game of two in a double header the Joliet Admirals lost the lead late in a 3-1 defeat to the Bloomington Bobcats on Thursday. The game was tied at one with Bloomington Bobcats batting in the top of fifth when Jack Butler singled off of Brent Stephens, driving in one run.

The pitching was strong on both sides. Bloomington Bobcats pitchers struck out five, while Joliet Admirals sat down eight.

Sean Arnold went 2-for-4 at the plate to lead Joliet Admirals in hits. 

Bloomington Bobcats collected eight hits. Fugitt and Houghton each collect multiple hits for the bobcats.

In the second game the Joliet Admirals stayed in it until the end, but Bloomington Bobcats pulled away late with a 9-7 victory on Thursday. Bobcats were down 7-5 in the top of the fifth inning when Figus doubled off of Patrick Laughlin, driving in three runs.

Joliet Admirals collected eight hits and Bloomingotn Bobcats had 11 in the high-scoring affair for the Admirals.

Joliet Admirals took an early lead in the first inning. Stevanovic's sac fly scored one run for the Admirals. Then they scored four runs in the second by a double from Colon and a single from Rodriguez.

Gordon earned the win for Bloomington Bobcats. He pitched three innings, allowing zero runs, one hit, striking out four, and walking zero. Rivera took the loss for the Admirals. He tossed two and a third inning, surrendering zero runs, two hits, striking out four, and walking.

O'Brien started the game for the Bobcats, he pitched four innings, allowing seven runs, seven hits, and striking out one. Thomas Przekwas started the game for Joliet Admiras. He tossed four and two-thirds innings, allowing six runs, eight hits, striking out three, and walking one. 

Trevor Heinlein and Colon each collected multiple hits for the Admirals. Colon and Heinlein each managed two hits to lead Admirals. The Admirals didn't commit a single error in the field. Rodriguez had seven chances in the field, the most on the team.

Bouwman and Houghton each collected multiple hits for the Bobcats. Bouwman lead Bobcats with four hits in four at bats.
